Best for
Mesa Summit succeeds the Mesa Trail II in Xero Shoes' zero-drop trail range, built for rugged terrain. An ESS rock guard blunts the ground underfoot, a minimal overlay upper gives lightweight support, and the internal Xero Lockdown tensioning system locks the foot in. Grippy lugs bite into the dirt. It arrived in 2026.
It suits you for easy trail runs and rugged ground when you want natural movement and a light shoe, and the Lockdown system suits runs where your foot needs to stay put.
It is not a cushioned or waterproof shoe. The rock guard blunts the ground rather than padding it, and the waterproof versions are a different model. Expect to feel the trail.
