HFS II is Xero Shoes' best-selling barefoot running shoe for men, dating to 2023: zero-drop, lightweight and breathable. A BareFoam layer and a FeelTrue sole balance ground feel against protection, and a new tire tread-inspired outsole is grippier. At 235 g it is light by any measure.
It suits you for easy runs and quicker road efforts if you want to feel the ground and have already built up to barefoot-style shoes.
It is not a cushioned shoe. A thin sole and zero drop give little padding for long distance or hard surfaces, and your feet and calves have to adapt first. Build mileage slowly rather than swapping it in for a long run.
