The Velociti Elite 3 is Under Armour's marathon racer, and the shoe Sharon Lokedi won Boston in. A full-length carbon plate sits inside a supercritical midsole, and the 2 mm offset Under Armour publishes is unusually flat for a shoe this tall — it asks more of your forefoot and calves than most super shoes do.
It suits you if you are racing long on the road and already run comfortably off the front of your foot. At 221 g it feels like a race shoe from the first stride.
It is not a trainer. The upper is minimal, the foam is tuned for one hard effort rather than a season of them, and the outsole rubber is thin enough that daily miles will use it up quickly.
