Best for
Pursuit 3 is a cushioned, zero-drop trail runner from Topo Athletic that wants to hit the dirt hard. A Vibram Megagrip outsole with generously spaced lugs sheds mud and snow, a ZipFoam midsole gives a responsive, balanced ride on a 28 mm stack, and a specialty FKT Insole drains quickly when wet.
It suits you for long trail runs in sloppy conditions, on ground that turns to mud or snow, and it suits runners already comfortable with zero drop. At 301 g it has the weight of a proper trail shoe.
It is not a soft or fast shoe. The cushioning is balanced rather than plush, and zero drop needs adapted calves for a full day on the trail. For quick, short efforts, look lighter.
