Cyclone is the fast end of Topo's road line. At 196 g it is genuinely light, and the 28 mm heel sits low enough that you feel the road and can turn your feet over quickly. The 5 mm drop and the wide toe box carry over from the rest of the range, so it is not built on a narrow racing last.
It suits you if you have a weekly tempo or interval session and want less shoe underneath you than your daily trainer gives.
It is not a plated racer and it is not a daily trainer. There is no carbon in it, so it will not do the work for you at marathon pace, and there is not enough foam here to absorb sixty easy kilometres a week.
