Best for
Connect is Topo Athletic's minimalist trail shoe, with no midsole at all: a zero-drop platform that hands you the ground. A finished strobel board lets you pull the OrthoLite Performance Insole to make it thinner still, and a Vibram XS Trek EVO outsole handles the dirt.
It suits you for mild to moderate trails and all-day movement, if you already like minimalist shoes and want walking and easy trail running in one pair. At 232 g it is easy to carry.
It is not a cushioned shoe. With no midsole foam, hard or rocky ground comes straight through, and zero drop loads the calves, so build mileage slowly. It is not made for long, fast days either.
