The Aero Glide is Salomon's road shoe for runners who want a lot of foam. A 41 mm heel and a curved, ski-inspired rocker roll you forward without asking your calves to do the work, and the 8 mm drop keeps it easy on the achilles.
At 245 g it is light for how tall it is, which is why it works for long runs as well as recovery days. There is no plate and nothing sharp about the ride.
It is not a workout shoe. The stack that makes it comfortable at an easy pace goes vague the moment you change gear, so keep something firmer for intervals and race day. Salomon is a trail brand first, and this is its road exception.
