The MagMax Nitro is PUMA's biggest trainer. The heel stack is 46 mm, all of it NITROFOAM, with a PUMAGRIP outsole underneath and an 8 mm drop. It is a lot of shoe, and it is meant to be: the point is to put distance between your legs and the road.
It suits you on easy days, recovery days and long runs, especially if you are running high mileage or coming back from something. The ride is bouncy rather than dead, which is unusual at this height.
It is not a fast shoe. At 290 g and this tall, quick turnover is uncomfortable and cornering is vague. Keep it for the miles where nothing is being asked of you.
