The Deviate Nitro Elite 3 is PUMA's road racer. NITROFOAM ELITE sits on a stiff carbon PWRPLATE, the heel stack is 40 mm, and the 8 mm drop keeps the geometry conventional for a super shoe. At 194 g there is very little of it that is not foam and plate.
It suits you on race day from the half upwards, and on a small number of sharpening sessions beforehand so the ride is not a surprise. It rewards a runner who can hold a pace long enough to load the plate.
It is not a trainer. The foam wears out quickly by trainer standards, and easy miles in it buy you nothing except a shorter life for an expensive shoe.
