Best for
The Cloudsurfer Trail 2 takes On's CloudTec Phase cushioning off the road for short runs on non-technical ground. The Missiongrip rubber outsole has bigger lugs in a chevron shape for reliable traction, and On tags the cushioning as max. The drop is 8 mm.
It suits you for easy runs on groomed trail and gentle paths, where you want plenty of cushion underfoot and enough grip for damp ground without a full mountain shoe.
It is not for steep, technical or muddy terrain, and the lugs say as much. At about 287 g it is no lightweight either, so leave it at home for fast efforts on the trail, where every gram counts.
