Best for
Where the original Kjerag is built to race, the Brut is built for the days when the course turns to soup. Long lugs on the Vibram Megagrip and Litebase outsole bite into mud, and the Matryx Micro weave of the Jacquard upper is chosen for drainage. EExpure foam sits underneath, firm in feel, and the whole shoe is aimed at tricky, variable terrain.
It suits you for muddy races and wet, challenging trail, where exceptional grip and an upper that sheds water count for more than anything else on the day.
It is not a shoe for dry, hard-packed trail or road links, where the long lugs feel awkward underfoot and the grip goes unused. It is a specialist tool for bad conditions, and it asks you to accept that.
