Best for
The Alphafly 4 is Nike's marathon racer with more energy and less weight, at 188 g and an 8 mm drop. A wide carbon fiber Flyplate works with dual ZoomX cushioning, ZoomX foam under the lightest ZoomX LT foam. The Air Zoom unit is updated for the first time, which makes it softer and quieter, and there is added cushioning under the curved forefoot.
It suits you if you race the marathon and want cushion and propulsion for the whole distance. It is for race day and key long workouts.
It is not a daily trainer, and it is not a cheap shoe. The soft max-cushion stack and the plate are tuned for a single fast effort, so training in it spends that edge on ordinary days.
