Best for
This one is all about the upper. The MTL Adapt Matryx wears a single layer of Matryx fabric, Kevlar and high-tenacity polyamide, with printed and TPU overlays and a padded collar, on a FloatPro foam midsole and a Vibram Megagrip outsole. It has an 8 mm drop, and 420 g is the price of that armour.
It suits you if you run long on rugged terrain and want an upper that shrugs off abrasion while keeping your foot cool. Ultras and rough ground are its home.
It is not light, and it is not a nimble shoe for fast efforts. You carry the durability and the cushion with every step, which wears on shorter runs. Toughness is what you are paying for, not speed.
