The Prodigio is where La Sportiva put its XFlow foam first — a nitrogen-infused supercritical midsole the brand rates as lighter, softer and more resilient than the EVA it replaced. A progressive rocker and a wide footbed roll you forward instead of asking you to push, and a full-length PU-coated film over the midsole takes the sting out of rocks.
It suits you if your trails roll rather than scramble and you want cushioning that still works late in a long day. At 270 g there is very little weight penalty for the foam underneath you.
It is not a technical mountain shoe. The cushioning is deep and the platform is wide, so precise footwork on broken rock is more work than it is in something low, and the engineered knit upper, built to drain rather than to armour the foot, gives up abrasion resistance for breathability.
