The Akasha II is the shoe La Sportiva builds for mileage. A dual-injection MEMlex midsole over a cushion platform soaks up rocky ground, stabilising inserts on both sides cut the torsion so the foot stays over the shoe, and a trail rocker keeps the motion smooth once your form starts to go.
It suits you if you run long in the mountains and want protection that holds up across a season rather than a summer. The 6 mm drop sits mid-range, which is part of why it works for technical terrain and long steady outings alike. If your runs are shorter and sharper, the lower, firmer Bushido III suits them better.
It is not light and it is not quick. At 310 g it is one of the heavier trail shoes you can buy, and that much shoe blunts the ground feel a short technical race asks for.
