The Kipstorm Elite is Kiprun's marathon racer, the shoe that took over from the KD900X LD+ at the top of Decathlon's own range. A full carbon plate sits inside Fastech+ foam, and at 215 g it is as light as the super shoes it lines up beside.
It suits you if you are racing long on the road — half marathon and marathon, where the plate and the stack do the work your legs would otherwise have to do in the last hour — and you want a full carbon plate without paying the very top of the market for one.
It is not a trainer. The 5 mm offset is flat by everyday standards, the foam is tuned for a handful of hard efforts rather than a season of easy miles, and the outsole rubber is thin enough that daily running is an expensive way to wear it out.
