The Trailfly Speed is the racing flat of inov-8's Trailfly range: low, firm and built for hard, rocky ground rather than mud. An anatomical shape locks the heel down and widens to let the toes splay, which is what holds a line on technical trail at pace, and a META-PLATE under the graphene lugs takes the sting out of stones.
It suits you if you already run trails and want a second pair for quick sessions and short races — inov-8 points it at tempo runs, fartlek and speed work first, racing second. If you only own one pair, the Trailfly V2 covers more of what you actually do.
It is not a shoe for long days. At 270 g it is light, but the platform is deliberately thin, so hours on rock leave your legs to do the absorbing, and there is not the stud depth for real mud.
