Zero drop is the whole idea of the Roadfly Zero, inov-8's road speedster for racing and faster runs. A lightweight FLYSPEED Pro foam midsole works in tandem with the BOOMERANG FOOTBED, giving a 12 mm stack from heel to forefoot, and inov-8 lists it as suitable for shorter races and training runs.
It suits runners already used to flat shoes who want a quick one for tempo runs, intervals and shorter races, where a thin, level platform keeps you light on your feet.
It is not a long-run or beginner shoe. The zero drop and thin foam load the calves and give little cushion, so keep mileage short and build up slowly if flat shoes are new to you.
