Best for
HOKA calls the Arahi 9 anything but an average stability shoe, and the claim is mostly about softness: very soft materials ride on an enhanced H-frame that combats overpronation while smoothing the entry into the gait cycle. An engineered mesh upper with tighter mesh on the medial side adds support, and the drop is 8 mm.
It suits overpronators who want a soft, supportive shoe for easy and long road runs, with the frame doing the work so they do not have to.
It is not a fast shoe. At about 283 g it is meant for steady miles, and if you do not need the added support, a neutral trainer will feel freer.
