The Nordlite Ultra 2 is Craft's road-to-trail shoe, aimed at gravel and long days off tarmac. Cr Foam gives it a 40 mm heel with a 6 mm drop, the Hypergrip outsole adds a lug pattern shallow enough to stay civil on road, and this second version reworks the upper and the last for a more secure hold over distance.
It suits you if your long runs mix surfaces — road out, gravel and dirt in the middle, road home — and you want one shoe that does not complain about either end of that.
It is not a technical mountain shoe and it is not light. Craft quotes 300 g at UK8, and the same shallow lugs that make it pleasant on tarmac will not hold in deep mud or on a steep wet descent.
