Brooks Hyperion Elite 6

Brooks' flagship carbon racer — DNA GOLD foam around a revamped SpeedVault+ plate, about 193 g, unisex.

The Hyperion Elite 6 is Brooks' flagship carbon racer, developed with its pro group — Josh Kerr's name is on the campaign — and rebuilt around softer DNA GOLD cushioning with a revamped SpeedVault+ carbon plate and a rocker tuned for race pace. At about 193 g in unisex sizing it finally sits at the weight the class expects.

It suits you if you race Brooks or want to: 10K through the marathon, worn for the day that counts and the last big dress-rehearsal session before it.

It is not a training shoe at $275, and Brooks' race foams have historically given their best for a short window — budget the kilometres for start lines. For the plated-workout job below it, the Hyperion Max 4 exists precisely so this one can stay in the box.
