The Fujispeed 4 is the speed-focused model in the Fuji family, a trail racer with a revamped, trail-optimized Pebax plate in the midsole and dual-layer FF BLAST PLUS foam around it. An ASICSGRIP outsole handles the ground, and a 5 mm drop and 240 g keep it light and neutral.
It suits trail races and fast trail training, tempo-style efforts included, when you want snap from the plate. The balanced cushioning keeps it usable beyond a short race.
It is not a plush ultra shoe. The plate asks you to run with intent and the cushion is regular rather than generous, so long, slow days over rough ground favour something softer, and it is no easy-day trainer either.
