Best for
The Vanish Tempo 2 is where Altra takes its natural-foot philosophy to the racing line. A split Pebax plate is built for propulsion while still letting the forefoot move, and FAST TRN dual supercritical foam keeps the ride light and responsive. The 34 mm stack and 4 mm drop give a natural racing stance at 243 g.
It suits tempo runs, intervals and races from ten kilometres to the half marathon, where you want a high stack and a racing stance that still feels natural. It keeps the FootShape fit Altra is known for.
It is not an easy-day trainer, and it is not forgiving of slow running. The plate and responsive foam are wasted on recovery miles, where a plainer shoe will serve you better.
