Altra Timp 6

Altra's cushioned trail shoe — zero drop on a 30 mm platform, with Vibram Megagrip for long days on rough ground.

The Timp sits between the Lone Peak and the Olympus in Altra's trail range, built on a 30 mm platform of EGO MAX foam with a Vibram Megagrip outsole. It is zero drop like the rest of the line, with a toe box wide enough for feet that swell late in a long day.

It suits you if your trail runs are long and your ground is rough, and you want more foam than the Lone Peak gives without the Olympus stack. Altra lists it for trail running and hiking, and the Megagrip is what tells on wet rock.

It is not light. At 325 g it is a lot of shoe to pick up on a climb, and a level platform this tall asks your calves and Achilles to absorb work a raised heel would take. Build into it slowly if you are new to zero drop.
