Best for
The Mont Blanc Speed is Altra's quick trail shoe, one that can still go the distance. The midsole is built rim and core, with EGO MAX foam around the edge and EGO PRO foam in the centre, and a Vibram Litebase outsole does the gripping. The stack is 29 mm, the drop is zero and the whole shoe comes to 286 g.
It suits technical trails and all-day outings where you still want some pace in your legs, and training runs where a responsive midsole matters. It is a good fit for runners already at home with zero drop.
It is not a racer, and it is not a bargain trail shoe. Zero drop under a stack this tall gives you cushion without a raised heel, which not every runner or ankle will welcome.
