The Agravic Speed Ultra is adidas' answer to the long mountain race. A 42 mm heel of Lightstrike Pro sits over a Continental outsole with 2.5 to 3 mm lugs, so you get super-shoe foam and real off-road bite at about 269 g.
It suits ultra distance and long days on mixed ground, where protection matters more than precision underfoot and you are going to be out there for hours.
It is not a technical shoe. The stack is tall, the lugs are shallow by mountain-running standards, and on steep wet rock you will want something lower and grippier. The foam is also too soft to make this your everyday trail trainer — save it for the days that go long.
